First Post...

Well the countdown is on and we are getting excited with only 3 weeks to go until we depart for Vietnam. I figured that we'd like to keep in touch with friends and family back home while on our little adventure - but I realised that email was so 2008, so with a few clicks have setup this Blog.

That's short for "Web-Log" mum, and is all the rage with self-absorbed narcissists like us who think they have something worth saying (okay - that's me, not so much Del).

The name Beyond our Comfort Zone sums up the whole purpose of this trip - to experience a little bit of life a little bit rough (rougher than the usual snotty-sick-grumpy-kids groundhog days that fill us with both tedium and joy).

I have no idea how often we will get to post here - as we don't know if we will be too busy or what. But I remember from our last Asia trip (8 years ago now) how much we used to enjoy getting off the street out of the heat at some internet cafe, and try to put into words the sights, smells, tastes and rawness of our little adventures, so we can share them with our family.

Anyway - even if only our mums read it, at least its some sort of record of our journey highlights for us to revisit someday.
